Visa Overview

The Japan Tourism Visa allows Filipino travelers to visit Japan for sightseeing, visiting friends or relatives, and other short-term activities. Both single-entry and multiple-entry visas are available depending on your eligibility.

Visa Details

Visa Type: Tourism (Short-Term Visitor)
Single Entry: Up to 15 or 30 days
Multiple Entry: 1, 3, 5, or 10 years validity (15, 30, or 90 days per stay)

Mandatory Requirements

Passport (Original) – Valid at least 6 months with 3 blank pages, self-signed
Old Passport – If you have previous Japan visa attached
Visa Application Form – Typed, with applicant’s signature (parents sign for minors)
Photo (1pc) – 4.5cm x 3.5cm, color, taken within 6 months, clear image without background
Color Copy of Passport Bio Page
Color Copy of Used Japan Visa – If any
Authorization Letter – Printed on A4 paper with wet ink signature (2 copies)
PSA Authorization Letter – Originally signed, printed on A4 paper

PSA Documents

Note: PSA documents are unnecessary if you have a used Japan visa on your passport.

Birth Certificate (PSA) – Issued within 1 year
- If not readable: Submit Birth Certificate from Local Civil Registrar
- If late registration: Submit Baptismal Certificate + School Record (Form 137)
- If no PSA record: Submit Local Civil Registrar copy + PSA Negative Certificate
Marriage Certificate (PSA) – For married applicants, issued within 1 year
- If not readable: Submit from Local Civil Registrar
- If no PSA record: Submit Local copy + PSA Negative Certificate

Itinerary in Japan

Printed on A4 paper with wet ink signature. Must include:

Schedule date of entry and departure to/from Japan
Flight information (if possible – booking not necessary)
Details of accommodation (hotel name, address, phone number – booking not necessary)

Financial Documents (If Applicant Shoulders Expenses)

Bank Certificate – Average Daily Balance (ADB) within last 6 months must be shown
- If ADB not indicated: Submit bank statement to prove transactions
Income Tax Return (ITR) Certificate – Copy acceptable
- Form 2316 must have signature of Employer and Employee
- For business owners: Proof of actual tax payment + BIR Tax Payment Certificate
Employment Certificate – Must indicate period, salary, and position
- For business owners: DTI Certificate of Business Name Registration + SEC + Mayor’s Permit
- For retirees: Copy of Senior Citizen ID
- For students: School ID or Certificate of Enrollment
- For unemployed/housewife: Letter of explanation

If Guarantor Shoulders Expenses

Guarantee Letter
Proof of Relationship – Birth Certificate or Photos
Guarantor’s Bank Certificate – With 6-month ADB
Guarantor’s Tax Payment Certificate
Guarantor’s Employment Certificate

Multiple-Entry Visa Eligibility

Multiple-entry visas (1, 3, 5, or 10 years) are available for:

1. Frequent Travelers

Traveled to Japan within last 3 years with financial capability
Traveled to Japan and other G7 countries several times within last 3 years
Has sufficient financial capacity (considerable high income)

2. Business Purpose

Regular employee of government enterprise
Employee of company listed on stock exchange (PSE or foreign)
Employee of JCCIPI member company
Employee of Top 1,000 Philippine corporations
Multiple business travel records to Japan in last 3 years

3. Cultural/Intellectual Figures

Artists, scientists, specialists with relevant accomplishments
Licensed professionals (lawyer, CPA, doctor, etc.)
University professors, lecturers
Government officials, senators, congressmen, mayors, bishops

Spouses and children of eligible applicants may also apply for multiple-entry visas.

How to Apply

Determine visa type – Single or Multiple entry
Schedule appointment – Fill up application form, submit passport bio page copy, pay visa fee
Prepare requirements – Submit documents at least 2 weeks before appointment
Wait for processing – Approximately 2 weeks from submission at JVAC

For applications submitted at least 3 months before travel

Single-entry: ₱2,500
Multiple-entry: ₱3,000
Premium Service
Travel less than 3 months but more than 2 months from departure

Single-entry: ₱4,700
Multiple-entry: ₱5,200
Visa at Your Doorstep
Travel less than 2 months from departure

₱7,900 (minimum 10 applicants applying together)

Important Notes

Paper Size: All photocopies and application forms must be printed on A4 size paper only.
Signature: Please use black pen when signing. Wet ink signature required on passport.
Bank Certificates: Only bank certificates issued by commercial banks in the Philippines are accepted.
Documents Not Returned: All supporting documents except passport cannot be returned after visa assessment.
