Visa Overview

The Switzerland Short-Term Schengen Visa (Type C) allows Filipino travelers to visit Switzerland and other Schengen member states for tourism, business, family visits, and other short-stay purposes up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

Visa Details

Visa Type: Short-Term Schengen (Type C)
Purpose: Tourism
Validity: Up to 90 days within 180-day period
Processing: 15 days from complete submission

  • Duly completed, dated and signed by applicant or legal guardian
  • Write in block letters using only black or blue ink
  • If applicant is a minor, both parents must sign the form
  • Current passport valid for at least 6 months after planned stay
  • At least 2 sequential empty pages
  • Copy of all relevant pages (bio data, photo, signature, back page)
  • Copies of Schengen, UK, USA, and Canada visas for the past 10 years
  • Roundtrip air travel reservation
  • Intra-Schengen flight, train itinerary, or car rental (if applicable)

Important: Do NOT purchase airline tickets yet. The Embassy cannot be held responsible for financial losses if you have to return a ticket.

Third Country Travel: If traveling to a third country (UK, USA, etc.) after leaving Schengen area, obtain that country’s visa first.

Required Coverage:

  • Medical attention and treatment including COVID-19
  • Transportation home for treatment + body repatriation
  • Minimum coverage: €30,000 (or USD 50,000)
  • Valid for all 26 Schengen member states
  • Insurance company must be re-insured with TOLL FREE number listed
  • Must allow CASHLESS SETTLEMENTS only (no reimbursement)

Note: Embassy does not accept policies with sub-limits, exclusions, or conditions.

  • Proof of accommodation for each night of entire trip
  • Confirmed hotel reservations or copy of rental contract
  • Package tour confirmation and advance payments (if any)
  • Detailed daily itinerary and schedule of activities
  • Personal Bank Certificate – Stamped and signed original
  • Bank Statements – Last 6 months account activity
  • Credit Card Statement – Last 6 months
  • Property Documents – Land Title, Condo Title, Car Registration

If Sponsored:

  • Notarized Affidavit of Support (issued within 1 month)
  • Sponsor’s valid passport copy
  • Sponsor’s bank certificate with 6-month statements
  • PSA proof of relationship

For Employees

  • Original Certificate of Employment
  • Leave approval letter with original stamp/signature
  • Copy of recent Income Tax Return (ITR)

For Self-Employed / Business Owner

  • DTI / SEC Business Registration
  • Latest GIS (for corporate business)
  • Updated Mayor’s Permit
  • Business Financial Statement (last 6 months)
  • Copy of ITR and COR

For Students

  • School Certification + Student ID
  • Letter from school authorizing absence (if during school year)
  • If Single: PSA Birth Certificate
  • If Married: PSA Birth Certificate + Marriage Certificate
  • If Widowed: PSA Birth Certificate + Marriage Certificate + Death Certificate
  • Not traveling with both parents:
  • Notarized Affidavit of
  • Consent from non-traveling parent
  • Traveling alone: Notarized Affidavit of Support and Consent from both parents
  • DSWD Clearance
  • Copies of both parents’ passports or IDs with signatures

Non-Filipino applicants with valid residency status in the Philippines must submit a copy of their Philippines residence permit.

  2. Schedule an appointment – Submit filled application form, passport bio page copy, and pay visa fee
  3. Prepare visa requirements and submit at least 2 weeks prior to appointment
  4. Attend biometrics appointment at Swiss VFS Manila
  5. Wait for passport release

  • Non-Residents: Philippine nationals residing in another country must apply at the Swiss representation responsible for their place of residence.
  • Timing: Application can be submitted max. 180 days prior to departure date.
  • Passport: During visa processing period, return of passport is not possible.
  • Refunds: In case of refusal, visa fee will NOT be refunded.
