Visa Overview

The France Short-Term Schengen Visa (Type C) allows Filipino travelers to visit France and other Schengen member states for tourism, business, family visits, and other short-stay purposes. This visa grants access to all 26 Schengen countries.

Visa Details

Visa Type: Short-Term Schengen Visa (Type C)
Purpose of Travel: Tourism
Validity: Up to 90 days within 180-day period

  • Completed Schengen Visa Application Form
  • 1 Passport-sized Photo – 35mm x 45mm, white background, present likeness
  • Valid Passport – 6 months validity from end of intended stay, at least 2 empty pages
  • Previous Passports – Latest 2 old passports
  • Photocopies – Bio page, previous visas, and immigration stamps from current and 2 old passports
  • Cover Letter explaining:
    • Travel dates
    • Purpose of travel
    • Names of companions
    • Day-to-day itinerary

Proof of Personal Economic Means

  • Original bank certificate from a commercial bank with 6-month statements
  • Bank certification must be issued within the month of application
  • Business/savings accounts may be submitted in addition
  • If full name not on business account: letter from bank manager confirming signing powers

If Sponsored

  • Original notarized Affidavit of Support (issued within 1 month prior)
  • Copy of sponsor’s valid passport
  • Sponsor’s bank certificate with 6-month statements (issued within 1 week)
  • Proof of relationship with applicant (PSA)
  • Proof of sponsor’s income

For Employees

  • Original Certificate of Employment (not older than 1 month)
  • Employment letter addressed to Embassy of France in Manila with HR stamp/signature
  • Copy of recent Individual Income Tax Return (ITR)

For Self-Employed / Business Owners

  • DTI/SEC Business Registration
  • Latest GIS (for corporate business)
  • Updated Mayor’s Permit
  • Business Financial Statement (at least 6 months)
  • Individual Income Tax Return (ITR)
  • Certificate of Registration (COR)

For Students

  • School Certification + Student ID
  • If traveling during academic year: Letter from school addressed to Embassy of France authorizing absence
  • Detailed Day-to-Day Itinerary – For entire stay with destinations and dates
  • Confirmed Flight Booking – With travel dates and booking reference showing entry/exit from Schengen
  • Interstate Booking – If traveling to other Schengen states
  • Minimum coverage of €30,000
  • Must be recognized in all Schengen States
  • Valid for the entire duration of intended stay

For Tourists

  • Confirmed hotel reservations for entire stay in Schengen area

If Invited by Family Member in France

  • Attestation d’Accueil (Invitation Letter) – validated by local mairie
  • Proof of Residence – French ID card, residence permit, or rental agreement
  • Proof of Financial Stability – Bank statements or income proof
  • Host’s contact information – Full name, address, phone, email
  • If Single: PSA Birth Certificate
  • If Married: PSA Birth Certificate + Marriage Certificate
  • If Widowed: PSA Birth Certificate + Marriage Certificate + Death Certificate of spouse
  1. Determine visa type – Confirm you need a Short-Term Schengen visa
  2. Schedule appointment – Fill up application form, submit passport bio page copy, pay visa fee
  3. Prepare requirements – Submit documents at least 2 weeks before appointment
  4. Visit TLS Manila – Provide biometrics at the Visa Application Centre
  5. Wait for processing – Refer to processing time below

  • Residency Rule: Applicants with Philippine passports who hold temporary or permanent resident permits in other countries (US Green Card, work permit, student visa) must apply in the country where they normally reside most of the year.
  • Bank Certificates: Only bank certificates issued by commercial banks in the Philippines are accepted.
  • Non-Refundable: The visa fee is NOT refunded if your visa application is refused.
